Varnishing Day or Hopeless Love

Oil paintings (The Yellow Tulips, 6″×12″, oil on birch panel) need protection from dirt and dust. After several months drying I varnish. There are several methods and preferences used by artists world wide. I prefer a glossy finish which is achieved in three thin coats, and I adore the way the colors look as fresh as the day they were painted. I like Winsor Newton products. In the language of flowers yellow tulips signify Hopeless Love, a factoid which should prompt a few wry smiles.
