Creating Memories

Unlike many, I paint methodically with purpose and intent. There’s a plan and I stick to it. I don’t do abstract or “take my brush for a walk”. I know that proponents of that style defend it by claiming that people enjoy the mental process of “finishing” a painting through discovery (the naming) of objects or shapes which have been nuanced or sketchily painted. Ever listen to someone recount their dreams? You can put your socks back on now.

Give me flowers and I will create memories.

The zinnias are from my neighbor Bette Fitzgerald’s garden.  She was 94 last week. I bet she’s got some great memories.
